"Honky Tonk Angels is a country music heaven! The band cooks and Amber sings up a storm. (Booking details are below.)"
Amber Joy has been singing since she can remember but it wasn’t until living in Port Lincoln, SA that she got enough confidence to stand up in front of a few local fishermen and belt a song out. From that moment on there was no stopping her. She moved back to Adelaide and started party band FLIRT along with her sister Leah. Happy to kick start peoples Friday and Saturday nights for over 10 years, Amber was yearning to return to her love of Country Music. So it was a dream come true when she was then offered the role of June Carter in Johnny Cash Tribute Band, Walking The Line. From there the fascination with female country music artists developed into a Loretta Lynn tribute show called Honky Tonk Angels. This show allows Amber to perform the songs from Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline and of course Loretta herself, right through to Shania Twain, Melinda Schneider and Gretchen Wilson. At the beginning of 2009 Amber was selected as a Top 10 Finalist in Tamworth's world famous Toyota Starmaker competition. But Tamworth is just the beginning as 2009 looks to be filled to the brim with Honk Tonk Angels and recording an original album of Traditional Country music…that’s right, the real kind, after all, there’s nothing like a story within a song. Honky Tonk Angels features the Holy Men live on stage: "Father" Anthony Thyer - guitars and banjo; Denis "The Preacher" Surmon on Bass and Vocals; Greg "The Reverend" Blanch on pedal steel and Jeff "Tub-Thumper" Clarke on drums
