Round up a posse for a good old belly-laugh and a bit of a sing-a-long when a bunch of comedic cowboys come together for a session of ‘Horsin’ Around at the Norwood Live’ on Friday, November 6
The Crusty Cowboy Club — whose members include many well-known Adelaide musicians — plays and sings cowboy music like no cowboys you ever knew — unless you knew some downright silly ones! Because the Crusty Cowboys like to have fun and laughs while making music and they will set your toes a-tappin and yer spurs a- rattlin’.
The somewhat “legendary” Crusty Cowboys will perform classic western tunes, new western songs and twisted western songs with its oddball take in the ‘Horsin’ Around’ comedy musical revue co-hosted by Norwood Live. There will be cowboy hats and duds and cowboy japes. There will be singing but no dancing … and cussin’ and yodelling (a bit). And there will be YOU! No excuses – you will be there. Because …
It’s Cowboy music — Western music. It’s fun.
Crusty Cowboy Club ringleader Sleepy Dawg Dawson says: “ ‘Tain’t no reason to be afraid of western music; shoot! – everybody knows the classic cowboy songs, and if you don’t, well, once you hear the Crustys do ‘em you’ll never forget ‘em! Or forgive ‘em!
“So…” Sleepy-Dawg warns, “if you have a favourite Cowboy song… best keep it to yourself because the Crusty Cowboy Club might murder it right in front of your very ears!
‘But we don’t murder every song, no … we do a mighty purdy job of some of the classic cowboy tunes. And why not?? With the kind of talent the boys have, they oughter!!! Songs like: Don’t fence me in, Spurs that Jingle Jangle, Cattle Call, South of the Border, Big Ball’s in Cowtown, Horsie Keep Your Tail Up, I’m an Old Cowhand, Happy Trails … beautiful stuff. And then, of course, there’s the ‘other’ stuff!
“Yep! Mayhem (silly stuff) and murder (the merciless slaughter of some beloved cowboy tunes) will be the order of the evening and at 20 bucks … Twenty hornswogglin’ bucks! … It’s chicken feed for a fun night horsin’ around on the town.”
“The Crusty Cowboys proudly count some big names among our membership: Stuart Day aka Rusty Sherriff’sBadge; Craig Rodda aka Buster Saddlesore; Polly Politis aka Red Rash; and Brett Sody aka Stereo Jack. And we will also enjoy the sound production of Craig (Supasound) Dolman on the night.
BOOK NOW – Numbers are limited — thanks to Covid rules — but GROUP BOOKINGS are encouraged; your table is your ‘bubble’. Meals will be available from 6.00 pm, and the noise starts at 8.50 pm.
Covid rules also request No Dancing but they don’t stop you from having fun!
And you can wear a cowboy hat – no law against it!
“And even if that nasty old Covid-19 says you cannot git up and dance you can dance in your pants!” said Sleepy-Dawg Dawson. “Or your duds, whatever you‘re wearin’!”
