This coming weekend presents a few opportunities see some excellent bands and hear some fine music.
Saturday, July 9 at Norwood Live — a Roots and Blues music showcase presented by the Adelaide Roots and Blues Association.
A little further north at the Para Hills Community Club, Young Neil and Green River blast out hits from the past in a great double act. Don’t get any ideas… no porno involved, just ‘Classic Rock’.
Sunday afternoon, July 10rd: fuel may be a little expensive but if you turn off your car’s air-conditioner you may get better value for a run down to Goolwa for the Murray Delta Juke Joint’s presentation of Young Neil and Horse Crazy — songs of Neil Young presented by Stuart James Day and the Horse Crazy Band. It’s pretty fkn good!
Make a day of it; it’s nice to get out of the city for a while, down to the genteel Coast, sucking in the sea air and the freshly-made ozone. And for your information there is a pretty handy pizza joint in Goolwa and a little further along the main road is a mighty good fish and chip shop for your lunch, afternoon tea or evening supper. Or you can go hungry — I don’t give a rat’s cock!
