Glorious Swansongs to wind up a decade of making music.
Published: March 2, 2023
Friday March 17 at the Semaphore Workers Club will be the place to catch the last stand of the Steve Brown Band after more than a decade of making great music together.
The Steve Brown Band of Renown (pictured above in glorious 1950’s ‘colour’) comprises Brownie hisself, (well, how ‘bout that, eh?), Jeff Algra (drums), Peter Martin (keys and cheese), Denis Surmon (bass) and Charles D. Rhodes (gitars).
They will say goodbye with a rousing couple of steamin’ and smokin’ … maybe even burnin’ and cracklin’ sets (for those who are pedantic about the King’s English I haven’t thrown away the “g’s” that I’ve dropped off those descriptive words; I still have them and I will put them at the end of the article and you can insert them yourself to assuage your grammatical discomfort. Put ’em where you like, I don’t give a rat’s arse).
Jeeez, where the fuk was I…?
Right, something about the music. Yes… it will be pretty good. It always is. Meh!
Anyway, get ready for a grand finale blast of The Brown Band’s best-known songs and some they still don’t know all that well but keep laughing and calling it jazz.
You probably have to get tickets. Someone will send me the booking link and I will repost this item.
If I wasn’t so fkn lazy I’d go to the SWC Facebook page and see if there was a booking link but right now I’m thinking about lunch and chicken soup.
Probably with some buttered toast.
Wholemeal, of course. And if you can’t make a whole meal out of that you don’t deserve the teeth you’ve got left in your pie-hole.
Here are the G’s. G, g, g, g.
And No! That’s not 2 horsies! So no betting!!
Oh… and here’s the ‘th’ I dropped off that ‘them’ word up there: th.
