Holy frijole — it’s taco time

Hot on the heels of the fantastically successful Goatshead Festival, the Three Brothers Arms (Macclesfield) will this weekend play host to a new-on-the-scene Tex-Mex-type outfit — Los Tacos!
New on the scene they may be but Los Tacos comprises some seasoned players, some more than others, some even a little spicy! But not overcooked!
And they have their musical sights set on the cactus-infested south-west of Seppo-land covering songs by The Mavericks (for example), Ry Cooder (to give another example), John Hiatt ( same thing), Los Lobos (You must have the visual panorama by now)… And, if you can believe advertising (see strange pic insert) songs from a ‘borderland’ somewhere. I don’t know … Nhill, Pinaroo, Eucla…?
So, Saturday night at the Three Brothers Arms in the Goatshead Baaa. March 11. Los fukkin Tacos.
It is free entry but if you don’t put money in the umbrella Los Tacos will set their rabid donkeys onto yer!
And if you’re never been bit off a rabid donkey come along and try it out! We’ve got a ponderosa of starving, rabid, donkeys just dying to get their choppers into measly tip defaulters!
I didn’t mean to frighten you; I was just saying’, a couple of bucks for the band to buy decent drugs won’t hurt your pockets, that’s all.
Speaking of the Goatshead Festival (mentioned earlier and enjoyed last weekend); a lot of fun was had by all, players and punters alike, and my pick of the fun was the Jamooks’ Beatle set. That’s what a party band should sound like! And it was a pleasure to see the other cover/tribute acts put a lot of effort into their tributaries, or whatever… their tribulations … no, trilobites?… not triffids… Anyway, their cover stuff.
Nevertheless, it would be a great pleasure to participate in another event built along similar lines in the future. Or something completely different. I don’t fukkin care. Let’s just have some F-U-N fun!
In the meantime… fun will be had with Los Tacos, Saturday night, March 11, Three Brothers Arms

You may have noticed in the Tacos promo pic that we’ve lost the middles out of the “O’s”. I will see if I can find them. They’ll be around somewhere; they can’t go too far on the ol’ interweb, eh?
