Nuts have souls too

“Ah, souls!” I heard someone say. And I say yes! When we’re not rave shouting or shoving squealing guitars in your face The Nuts often take a moment to reflect on the idiotic choices made by a few of the people we know.
This next song sample, track No. 5 from The Nuts physical CD release Millionaires Mix tells, in song and rhyme, a sad tale. It may make you cry. And I don’t blame you — listening to it now makes me cry.
Story: So, your useless big-dreamer mate who thinks everything can be achieved with better drugs runs off to the Bigger Smoke to live the life that’s been calling for him/her; the one they ‘deserve’ rather than the one they got handed in a dowdy little backwater joint. Sounds fair enough… it’s a big world out there.
They go — Toodle-ooo! The letters start off great: ‘Shoulda done this years ago!” But they tail off. Then … no more.
A couple of years later, you’re on a whistle-stop tour with your humble little band and, standing outside your gig venue in the Bigger Smoke is the ex-pat, looking like the unlucky survivor of a shitstorm. “Great to see ya, man. Hey, have you got some ….?”
That’s what ‘Turned to Dust’ is all about.
